A C Fergusson & Partners

History of the Firm

The Firm was set up in 1984 by the late former Sole Proprietor Alec Crowther Fergusson, a British Solicitor practising in London. He sailed to Singapore in 1958 to join the law firm of Drew & Napier, and stayed with the firm for over 25 years as a Corporate Lawyer. He became a Singapore citizen and remained one for 40 years.

In 1984 he left Drew & Napier where he was a Senior Partner, to run his own firm under the style of his name until 1996 when Mrs Alice Tan joined him and the firm became a Partnership in 1997. He died in the year 2000, aged 66. Thereafter the Firm was operated by Mrs Tan.

Now into its 27th year of operations, the firm is engaged in 7 core areas of business namely personal law, family law (including divorce, adoption, probate), civil and commercial litigation, corporate and secretarial practice, conveyancing and criminal law.

The managing partner, Mrs Alice Tan, has more than 17 years of experience in Singapore law, having been called to the UK bar at Lincoln's Inn in 1994. The practice is run with dedication and efficiency, with the aid of conscientious legal secretaries and court clerks.
